Discussion Program Held to Minimize Drug Addiction and its Impact on Youths: Pargatinagar - 2012

It is fact that every year thousands of people die by using drugs and by different road accidents after having alcohol.  It is also true that addiction on such things never gives the good result, it always impact and harm people.  And, once if people have drugs addiction, they are dominated in the society. But even  there are several ways that they can get rid from such addiction; because drug addiction is treatable. But it is also a fact that “prevention is better then cure”, so people should have to identify the ways to prevent themselves from such kind of addiction.

Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal (JCYCN) worked a step forward to spread awareness on such activities. JCYCN in coordination with CWIN Nepal and Jagriti Child Club Nepal organized Discussion Program on "ROLE OF STAKEHOLDERS TO MINIMIZE THE DRUG ADDICTION AND ITS IMPACT ON YOUTHS". The program was organized in Pargatinagar, Nawalparasi on the occassion of International Child Day and festive season "Deepawali".

The program was chaired by Mr. Govinda Prasad Khanal, Secretory of Pargatinagar VDC; Mr. Nantiraj Gurung, officer at Nepal Police along with other personalities. Total 70 participants from different political parties, teachers, social workers and representatives from youths club and child clubs were participated for the program to brainstorm and to identify the factor indicators, so that it could help to minimize such problems.
